From Tuesday 9th June 2026, changes to driving test bookings will allow pupils to move their test only to one of the 3 nearest driving test centres to their current booking. This update is part of the new driving test rules and applies to all existing bookings—considering the current location of the test rather than the original booking site. For any modifications made from today, the 3 nearest centres will be determined based on the booked test centre at the time of the change, in line with learner driving regulations.
Our priority is to stop learners from being exploited by third parties during the driving test booking process. We aim to put them in control of their driving test and make the experience fairer by cracking down on businesses that resell tests at inflated prices. Today's location restrictions will help deter bookings at centres where learners do not intend to sit their test, reinforcing the new driving test rules and ensuring compliance with learner driving regulations.
Starting from 31 March 2026, learners will be limited to 2 changes per booking regarding their driving test booking. From 12 May 2026, only the learner is allowed to book, change, swap, or cancel their own test. It has now become against the law for you or anyone else to book a test for your pupils, and changing, swapping, or canceling a driving test for someone else is also prohibited under the new driving test rules. Since the implementation of these learner driving regulations on 12 May, we have suspended 3,605 accounts from accessing online booking, taken action against bot usage, and reported apps to store providers for removal. We are committed to monitoring any misuse of the system and will continue to take action against those violating these rules.
You must book your practical driving test directly on the official GOV.UK Driving Test Booking Service. The DVLA strictly prohibits instructors or third-party services from booking tests on your behalf. The standard fee for a car driving test is £62
